Dewey E. Barnes

North Augusta, SC……. Dewey E. Barnes, age 81, entered into rest on January 10, 2026. 

He was born in Tennessee on February 2, 1944 to the late Jimmie Brownlow Barnes and Jannie Parm Barnes. He retired from the Savannah River Site, where he was a construction superintendent and maintenance engineer. 

Dewey was a people person and will be remembered for his excellent sense of humor. He took great pride in his home and was very handy–he could fix anything. His passions were hunting, fishing, and golfing. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers. 

He is survived by his sons, Greg Barnes and Dewey Barnes Jr. (“DJ”), and by his ex-wife, Bonnie Barnes. 

Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Friday, January 16 at 4:00 PM at Dewey’s residence.
